Hey guys. I recently bought, painted and fitted a new front bar to my car. After finally installing it i realised that the bar sat on an angle to the ground. Its built that way. But as seen below, the angle was too much for my liking (80mm front to back). Because there really aren't many parts (or cars with that front bar even) i had to build my own lip. This is my build. First of all i had to find myself a material. Couldn't find anything at clark rubber, bunnings, supercheap or autobarn that was remotely plausible to make a front lip out of. Originally i had planned on finding some Plastic angle and shaping that but its not easy (or cheap) to come by. I found a plastic engineering place in Brendale that machine plastics and aluminium for different applications. I went there for their ABS plastic sheets in which i asked for 2 lengths of 60x4x1500mm. They cut and sold me that for $15. They also gave me an off-cut length which was awesome I went home and because i have shit all tools atm, i marked and cut out the lip with an angle grinder to suit my front bar. (I don't recommend cutting plastic with an angle grinder....) I then went to Bunnings and bought some little L brackets for like $0.46 ea and some nuts and bolts (10pk) for $5.00 ea (i suggest going to a fasteners to buy the nuts and bolts. Could have got stainless bolts for half the price from there but they were closed the day i built the lip and im an impatient mofo) I also painted the L brackets black.

The next step was attaching the parts of the lip to my front bar. I simply bent the plastic to fit the shape of the front bar and bolted the brackets in the appropriate places to hold it how i wanted it. As you can see it doesnt meet the body perfectly.. But it doesnt need to. It sits 10mm in from the edge, hiding the small gaps from view.

Its still not finished yet but so far its cost me roughly $30. and an hour or two. Pretty happy with it. Just need some black bolts and im thinking of fiber-glassing the joins, maybe add a few more brackets. will post further progress here. Hope this helps. Feel free to ask any questions
